Or here are some descriptions of local journeys to find us

From Airport by car
Leave the airport by taking the A8 road for Edinburgh, you will go for 2 miles until the Gogar roundabout. You need to get onto the A720 city bypass so look for the signs saying Edinburgh South & East. Stay on this road for about 6 miles and look out for the junction sign called Straiton. Take the Straiton junction and at the end of the slip road turn first left onto the A701 with signs for Edinburgh City Centre (South). Stay on this (A701) road for about 3 to 4 miles. You will go straight on through 2 main traffic lights controlled junctions signposts that will have Liberton listed. After the second of these junctions we are about half a mile further down on the left-hand side of the main road situated just after a right-hand curve in the road. We have a white signage display showing Brae Lodge Guest House name by the roadside. Free parking is off road in front of the house.

From Waverly Train Station
When you leave Edinburgh Waverly Station please use the Princes Street stairs exit. At the top then turn right (passed the Balmoral Hotel) until the corner of the road. Cross over that junction to North Bridge Road and turning to the right, walk up that road until the third bus stop and from there take either bus service number 37 or 7. Either of these buses will take you here and there is no need to change buses. Now see the text opposite for local bus directions

From Airport using Airlink bus service
Go to the airport terminal forecourt outside the main entrance and look for the Airlink stand D and bus number 100. This is a direct service which ends on Waverley Bridge, in Edinburgh city centre. You must now get the bus number 37 to us.
Walk towards Princes Street at the end of Waverley Bridge where there are traffic lights. Cross over to the opposite side of Princes Street and turning to your left continue along until the department store called Marks & Spencer. There you will see the bus stop for the bus number 37. (There are request stops on this route, so you could ask the driver to stop at the nearest stop to Marks & Spencers in Princes Street, to get the 37.) Now see the text opposite for further local bus directions

From Airport using Edinburgh Tram service
The Tram station is situated on Jubilee Road within the airport area and it is the number 50 tram. Take this tram to the Princes Street stop. Then cross to the side of the road where all the shops are. Turn right and continue along Princes Street until you come to the department store called Marks & Spencer. At that store is the bus stop for the bus service number 37. Now see the text opposite for further local bus directions

We are located on the A701 road
approximately 2 miles from the city centre.

We have free private parking for our guests for up to 5 vehicles.

Directions for local buses from the city centre

The Lothian Regional Transport (LRT) buses number 37 or 7 from Edinburgh city centre comes to within a 100 metres of us. The journey should take no more than 15 minutes and the fare costs 1.70 per adult. The driver gives you your ticket and the driver can only accept the exact money (you could consider buying a DAY ticket at 4.00 which lets you take multiple journeys during the day).

From Princes Street, you will travel along the North Bridge road, traveling away from the centre and continue through Newington Road, Minto Street and Craigmillar Park. The bus then turns right for the bus stop on Liberton Road. After that bus stop there is one more on Liberton Road. After that bus stop there is a traffic lights junction and across this junction is Liberton Brae road, this is where we are.
You should now request to get off at the next bus stop which is called Orchardhead Road. (If in doubt ask the driver for the FIRST bus stop AFTER Liberton Road). We are about 100metres on the opposite side of the road from this bus stop.
Update 2019: If you take one of the new LRT buses. They now have electronic bus stop annoucement/display boards to tell/show what stop is next on the bus route. So listen and watch for the stop called Orchardhead Road. (Please note not all buses have these)

Do you have a smartphone? Lothian buses have an app called "Transport for Edinburgh" available from Google Play or Apple Store. You can buy m-tickets to pay for your bus fare, and so there is no need for money. And it helps you plan travel in and around Edinburgh on all their buses.
